| My name is Lori, and I am an adoptee. After searching for almost five years, I finally located my birthmother early this year. I was born and adopted in Missouri, and Missouri is a very hard state in which to search. We all need to continue to push for open records legislation so that adult adoptees can have the same right to their original birth certificates that non-adopted adults already have.
